The NFI is a nonprofit, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3), membership and educational certifying organization founded in 2001

The professional organization representing the NIDCAP community worldwide with clinicians, educators, researchers, families and students as its members

The NFI supports the NIDCAP model, caregiving and training approach

The NFI:

    • Certifies Professionals and hospital nurseries
    • Ensures quality and continuity of training
    • Provides and expands learning opportunities
    • Adapts training to changing healthcare settings
    • Grows and supports the Membership

 

The NFI is governed by:

    • Board of Directors (elected by the membership or appointed by the Board for three-year terms)
    • Officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer; annually elected by the Board)
    • Membership-approved By-laws

The NFI Board of Directors governs four major committees (Program, Governance, Finance, Advancement), advisory councils, sub-committees and task forces.
